Guestbook

This charming thatched cottage has been beautifully renovated. Interior design, furnishings and facilities are all to a high standard.
We found this ideal base for exploring Norfolk and The Broads with our family of 5 plus dog.
All in all, we found the accommodation to be excellent value for money and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it all to our friends and family.

Chris Sykes,

Fabulous, comfy and cosy cottage, with absolutely everything provided.
Host Shelly could not have been more friendly, helpful and responsive with our questions.
Braemar is superbly well equipped with quality kitchen appliances, utensils and gadgets (incl. coffee pod machine). The white goods were all new, with a Rangemaster cooker, half dishwasher, and even a new Webber charcoal BBQ in the sheltered wall-garden.
We thoroughly enjoyed taking our dog Nelson, to meet up with our adult son, and then 2 friends to fully utilise this wonderfully layed-out house, and enjoy the Broads on the doorstep.
We cannot fault this great property and would book again, without hesitation.

Nick & Jilly, Scotland,

Just back from a lovely week in Norfolk, staying at Braemar (with our two dogs).
Great location, perfect For exploring the Broads and further afield to the coast - pooches were exhausted every night after long walks! The house is really well appointed, was spotlessly clean, everything you could want really. Sunny conservatory was a treat, comfy bed, proper gas range cooker, everything just worked which is fab when you’re on holiday and don’t want to have any hassle! I’m sure we will be back.

Rick Harris,

This is a lovely cottage in a great location if you want to explore the Norfolk Broads and indeed the Coast as the nearest beach is only half an hour away. Shelly is a great host and very helpful with all our enquiries. Cannot recommend enough.

Michael Morris,

A beautifully stylish, clean and comfortable house; it has everything you need in terms of space - outdoor and indoor. We love to cook and found the kitchen extremely well equipped. The location is ideal for Norwich, the Broads but also not too far from the beaches at Cromer and Winterton-on-Sea. We loved our stay and will be coming again - it was perfect for us!

Kate Cowling,

Lovely sunny 🌞time, so spacious for family of 5, beach and garden, did not want to go home on Friday! Back next year, thank you Shelly.

Kate,

We booked Braemar for our family holiday and what a little gem we have found. Check in was 4pm and check out 9am due to Covid so will be better once that time can be a little earlier/later.
The house is very spacious with three lounge areas and a sun room. The kitchen has a large dining table and is well equipped with top quality kitchen appliances and equipment.
The TV’s have Netflix and Amazon prime and there is also an x box.
The garden again has a large outdoor dining table and bbq with use of garden chairs. A very pretty garden that is well looked after.
The bedrooms are spacious with quality beds and mattresses soft furnishings.
The village is quiet with a nice circular walk with dogs and freshly laid eggs available a short walk away. The fur and feather pub is a short drive or cycle away.
Cycling is relatively easy locally with fairly flat roads. We also hired a boat for the day using Barnes brink craft from wroxham to explore the broads, and this is highly recommended.
We also visited Winterton on sea and caister on sea with our dog as both are dog friendly. Lovely clean unspoilt Sandy beaches and are very uncrowded.
Braemar is highly recommended as a top quality home from home experience and we will def be back.
Thank you Shelly for your great communication and for sharing your wonderful home

Andrea Wright,

My family and I (and dog) had a great time staying in this gorgeous cottage. It has beautiful period features and lots of space.
All the amenities were of such a high standard, exceptionally clean and a lovely garden with a bbq.
Great location to the broads and surrounding towns. Would definitely stay again.
Thanks Shelly for a lovely stay!

Becci Ives,

The cottage is a home from home and more, with so much character and nice touches. Everything from the appliances to the bedding is top quality and in immaculate condition. It’s a great location, with a selection of pubs and the Broads in walking distance, and Norwich city centre and the coast just half an hour’s drive away. The garden is completely enclosed so safe for our dog. Can’t fault the place at all. Would highly recommend staying in Braemar

Colin Fennell,

We very much enjoyed our stay at the well equipped Braemar. The house itself is very attractive, and the modest, enclosed garden is excellent for those with small children or a dog or two. What was particularly pleasing was having quality pans of a good size to cook with on an excellent cooker. So often we’ve stayed in places where the cooking facilities are really not up to much – not so at Braemar. A good fridge freezer too and an abundance of crockery and utensils. The house was very comfortable to stay in on our one day of rain and was a great base from which to see the sights. Shelly was a helpful, responsive, and friendly host. Highly recommend.

Louise Clack,

This place is truly exceptional and we did not want to leave!! Could not fault anything about it. Beautiful inside and out, excellent location for exploring the broads, great communication from the hosts. Would love to return and would recommend to anyone. Big thanks to the hosts!

Hannah,

Braemar is a beautiful cottage both inside and out. Shelly was incredibly helpful in providing all the information we required and she had gone all out with her arrival hamper and flowers on the table. Everything had been thought of, decorated tastefully, a great use of modern features and every utensil of a high quality that you would need. The level of cleanliness was impeccable. The position of the cottage is great for exploring the stunning surroundings. As a family we all enjoyed staying at Braemar and we will return again. May 2021

Katherine ,

Braemar is the most beautiful chocolate box cottage, deceptively large with so much space indoors. The quality of the furnishings and fittings was superb. This cottage is presented as a loved home not a faceless rental property. The location is perfect, set in the countryside with great walks from the front door which are perfect for dogs but not too rural. Easy access to Norwich with buses and a local train station. Shelly has thought of everything that you might need when away. This is the best stay we have had anywhere. Kate Butchers May 2021

Kate Butchers,

My husband and myself are very positive about Braemar cottage. All went smoothly from start to finish. Communication with the owners was very clear and efficient. Shelly was most helpful, in accommodating us. There were many nice touches such as a hamper when we arrived. The cottage is the prettiest house in a quiet village very close to scenic Salhouse broad and is easily reached by train. Boating is available close by and we had fun cycle rides to neighbouring villages and pubs, including the brewery in the next village. The cottage itself is wonderful, full of atmosphere and history. It is decorated tastefully with all mod cons in excellent working order and all material and utensils are of high quality. The level of cleanliness was impeccable, with much Covid awareness. The gardens are also very pleasant and well designed. In short we had a restful and enjoyable weekend. Thank you Shelly.
Isabelle

Isabelle Tombs,

We were delighted with Braemar from the moment we drove up. A beautiful picturesque cottage that is beautifully presented while keeping lots of original features, The history is fascinating. Everything you need for a comfortable stay was provided, the welcome basket was very much appreciated as was the dog bowl! Everything has been thought of. Communication was excellent throughout. The position is perfect surrounded by great walks, we couldn’t of wished for a more perfect break.

Anne Jones,

We had a wonderful stay at Braemar. The house is bigger than the photos appear, which was a nice surprise! It was very well equipped with new, high quality utensils. Large and multiple seating areas, perfect for groups. Shelly was extremely helpful and informative about the local area, places to visit and eat at. We would recommend the Fur and Feather for food and drinks and Horsey Gap to see the seals! Thanks so much Shelly, we’ll be back!
